  • Admissions

    Admission in to one of our San Francisco Bay Area eating disorder treatment programs can be arranged by contacting our Intake Team via our 24/7 Intake Line, or by submitting one of the following online forms: self-assessment form, application form, insurance verification form, or the contact request form. Therapists, dietitians, psychiatrists, other medical providers and treatment facilities may also contact us directly or submit a referral form to initiate possible admission for one of their patients.

    Our intake team makes every attempt to respond to treatment inquiries and admission requests via phone and email the same day and no later than 24 hours following. During the first call, we conduct a short pre-assessment over the phone, provide information on our treatment program, collect insurance information to verify benefits and coverage, and describe financing and payment options if necessary.

    Following this initial screening, an intake assessment will be scheduled either in person or over the phone with one of our psychologists. We are usually able to schedule assessments within 24-hours of initial contact with our program.

    After completion of the intake assessment, you may be referred to our Day Treatment Program, Intensive Outpatient Program, or to a Residential or Inpatient Treatment Program. All patients admitting to Marin Vista Health and Wellness Center have primary eating disorder diagnoses. If other mental health or substance abuse issues are primary, referrals will be provided to appropriate treatment programs.

    It is important to note that we do not admit patients who are actively using alcohol or other substances. In order for eating disorder treatment to be successful, substance use and abuse must be treated and stabilized first. If you are in need of substance abuse treatment, we can coordinate your admission in to one of our Medically Supervised Detox or residential treatment programs.     Prior to admitting to Marin Vista, medical clearance from a physician is required within 24-hours of admission and may be completed up to five business days prior to admit. If you do not have a primary care physician, please let our intake team know and they can assist with a referral to a local doctor.

    In general, we schedule admissions Monday -Thursday at 11:30 am, which is at the beginning of the program day.
